About Us

Answering a question of who you are is never a simple one. It might be simpler to say what we are not and address some of the most common misconceptions. We are a Masonic body. Ancient Craft Masonry is the world’s oldest fraternity, continuing the traditions of the Ancient Mysteries. It provides fellowship, philanthropy and Masonic education.

Royal Arch Masonry continues the pursuits and lessons of Ancient Craft Masonry. We have an intimate connection between the two, and in some jurisdictions the Holy Royal Arch degree (and/or the Mark Master degree) are direct parts of Ancient Craft Masonry.

And when answering most anything in Freemasonry the answer is often “well it depends on the jurisdiction”. In this jurisdiction (under Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Nebraska) we are an appendant body. We operate outside of the Blue Lodge as a separate Masonic institution for further light. We don’t simply confer the Capitular degrees. We are under an additional obligation. We inculcate different (additional) morals. In Chapter #1 specifically we try to have a strong focus on Education, though Fellowship and Philanthropy are still important.
